Why Bobby Bonilla is STILL getting paid by the New York Mets
Every July 1st until 2035, Bobby Bonilla receives a nice little pay day from the New York Mets. TSN baseball insider Steve Phillips talks about the infamous Bobby Bonilla 25 year buyout with the Mets that Phillips was involved in. Happy Bobby Bonilla Day. Bobby gets his 14th installment of $1,193,248.20 today. There's 11 years and $11,932,482 left. The Mets have paid him $16,705,474.8 so far for him to *not play* the 2000 season. pic.twitter.com/MABQvc8zE5 — Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) July 1, 2024
