About J.F.R. Perseveranda
J.F.R. Perseveranda is a Filipino American writer, photographer, and community storyteller based in California. He is the founder and editor of PinoyBuilt.com, a digital platform dedicated to exploring Filipino American identity, history, culture, and lived experience.
Born in the Philippines and raised in the United States, J.F.R. brings a first‑hand, intergenerational perspective to his writing — one shaped by immigration, working‑class resilience, and the quiet perseverance common to many Filipino American families.
His work blends personal narrative, cultural commentary, political analysis, and original photography. Rather than chasing headlines, PinoyBuilt focuses on context, memory, and meaning — especially where Filipino Americans are often overlooked or misunderstood.
