Watch: The Brothers Sun | Official Trailer | Netflix
I highly recommend this Netflix series. You know Michelle Yeoh -- she's great. But she has a great cast around her, and the plot is awesome. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and everything in between.
Blood runs in the family.
When the head of a powerful Taiwanese triad is shot by a mysterious assassin, his eldest son, Charles (Justin Chien) heads to Los Angeles to protect his mother, Eileen (Michelle Yeoh), and his naive younger brother, Bruce (Sam Song Li) — who’s been completely sheltered from the truth of his family until now.
But as Taipei’s deadliest societies and a new rising faction go head-to-head for dominance — Charles and Bruce must figure out what brotherhood and family truly means before someone takes them out.
Streaming only on Netflix January 4th, 2024.

I’m a 1.5 generation Filipino immigrant — I left the Philippines at 9 years old and grew up in the United States. Like many others who moved young, I still find myself learning more about the history and cultural richness of our homeland. One of the most fascinating and often overlooked aspects of the Philippines is just how diverse it truly is. The Philippines is home to over 175 ethnolinguistic groups , each with its own language, culture, and history. Below is a more detailed look at the major groups, including where they live and approximate population sizes. Luzon Tagalog (~28–30 million) – Central & Southern Luzon, Metro Manila, Mindoro Ilocano (~9–10 million) – Northern Luzon, Ilocos, Cordillera, migrants in Mindanao Kapampangan (~2.9 million) – Pampanga, Tarlac, parts of Bulacan, Bataan Pangasinan (~1.5–1.8 million) – Pangasinan Province Bicolano (Central Bikol) (~4–5 million) – Bicol Region Ibanag (~500,000) – Cagayan Valley Ivatan (~30,0...
National Leon Day is celebrated every June 25th , and it marks exactly six months until Christmas Day . The name “Leon” is simply “Noel” spelled backward , and “Noel” is a French word meaning “Christmas.” π Is It a Real Holiday? Leon Day is not a government holiday , but it's widely recognized online and in certain niche communities. Think of it like “Star Wars Day” (May the 4th)—fun, unofficial, but real to fans. Lots of Filipinos mark September 1 as the start of the Christmas season at the start of the "ber" months. I guess there are some who start earlier on June 25! π Common Leon Day Activities Start working on handmade Christmas gifts Plan or preview holiday decor Begin holiday budgeting or shopping Run "Christmas in July" teaser sales or announcements Join us & help build this Los Angeles Filipino-American community. Eala advances to semifinals. Congratulations Alex Eala! Just WOW. As a Filipino born in the Philippines, I'm just beaming with so much Pinoy pride right now. As an ex-high school tennis player, I so appreciate today's great upset/win. Iga Swiatek is a 5-time grand slam champion. But to have beat your last two opponents who were also grand slam champions, that makes three grand slam champions that you beat to get to the semifinals. I was going to watch the recorded match at my sister's house tonight. Vince said he'd record it. But I ended up subscribing to the Tennis Channel for one month. I had to watch Alex Eala LIVE to take on the WTA #2 (Swiatek was previously the #1 player in the world). Alex Eala is currently ranked #140 in the WTA (Women's Tennis Association). For sure, she'll be in the Top 100 after this Miami Open. Alexandra Eala vs. Iga Swiatek | 2025 Quarterfinal Miami | WTA Match Highlights
